God Are You There

When I look into the sky
I often wonder why
the DNA that is me,
came from between the knees.

Why do senses that lets me
smell, feel, hear, taste and see
add so much joy to my life,
is also full of strife?

God, I have to question why
do men suffer and die?
Can it be You are not there,
to hear or even care?

I refuse to believe You’re not
a lie that I have bought.
Before I’m gone like the mist,
show me that You exist.
