Goals
Goals
When money’s our objective
For the happiness we seek
We live in fear of losing it
And suspicion starts to peak
When fame is what we live for
We become competitive
Envy overtakes us
And we’ll hate the life we live
When power and influence
Drives us to our goal
We become so damn self-serving
We begin to lose our soul
When possessions are our guidelines
Enough is not enough
Greed soon overcomes us
And we’re smothered by our stuff
Not any of these vile pursuits
Should anyone employ
For they pale in comparison
To contentment and to joy
