Go Vote

Every four years we get out the vote, its our civic duty we are told. We put on our scarfs and coats and brave the rain and the cold. The choices we have are divided into two, the red on one side, the other side blue. They hold rallies and debates to tell us their plans, and sometimes they measure each others' hands. By the end of the whole election process, we hate our family, neighbors and friends. We've been doing this for years without any progress, when will all this political madness ever end. We spend the next four to eight years complaining or agreeing with whoever wins. one side will stand up and cheer, while the other spends time looking for sins. One side always finds fault in the other, while their own faults they try to cover. They hope the voters will have forgotten, all of those things they've done rotten. At the end of the day we are pitted against one another and they get together and pat each other's backs. They treat one another like long lost brothers, and make speeches and get paid in stacks. "The trouble is we've got too many men running things in this country that think they're smarter than the Lord." -- Huey P. Long 10 / 30 /18

Nothing separates us quite so unsweetly as politics and religion. I try to avoid both whenever I can. Because of the separation quality.

"...and sometimes they measure each others' hands" LOL how sad is it that that is an accurate description?
