Notes About The Poem

*The exciting comeback by the Red Sox - 4th game in the 2018 World Series against the Dodgers.

Go Sox 3

Game 4 in the World Series sure is something to talk about
In fact, such an exciting game, worth cheers and a shout
In the 5th a Red Sox close call hit to left, almost a home run
As the excitement increases on edge of the seat fun

The close game continues tied 0 – 0 to the 6th inning
Hits, catches, strikes, outs with no-one winning
Then, the dodger’s double and another hit take the lead
The dodger’s fight to win 1 – 0, now plant a seed

The Dodgers then hit a far one with another double
Now, bringing the Red Sox some looming trouble
Suddenly, the Dodgers smash a home run to left field
They take the lead 4 - 0 moving forward as they wield

The stadium is full with a massive rising crowd
In the west, they are cheering very loud
Into the 7th Red Sox fighting hard, bases are full
A home run to the right, pushes the score 4 – 3 like a bull

Their comeback continues in the 8th, another home run, 4 – 4
This is what watching the game is worth waiting for!
The red sox keep pushing forward with what seems an open door
Into the 9th, the Red Sox double, now 5 - 4, push ahead even more

Then, bases are loaded and there is a center field hit
No out is made, standing to cheer instead of sit
Now, 3 runs come in, 8 to 4, as the lead does increase
The Red Sox effort and energy, never does cease

They keep on going, with another hit 9 – 4 now
Then Dodgers come to bat and keep up the fight somehow
The Dodgers hit a home run bringing the score 9 - 6
Now, there are some nervous feelings in the mix

But, the Red Sox succeed with their staying ahead
With a catch in the outfield, an outstanding win before bed!
        	            -    GO SOX!   -
