Glowing In the Shadows

The city seems
so unreal at night
     Shadows painted
on so many faces
Streetlights light up the
roads
     the asphalt
homeland
    a young man and woman
embrace each other
       against the darkness
          As the city
dwellers grow weary
       lights go dim
In their homes and apartments
      the night people wait
for dawn
        which signals the
end
    of their nocturnal
escapades

Lovely scene you paint here, Matthew. You seem to have a running theme throughout your work. It's beautiful. As to your question, no I haven't read the book you mentioned, but I will have to check it out. I want to learn all I can about the various forms. Blessings, Donna G.

Love the people of the city imagery and feel to this. A soft and dreamy write that leaves the reader wondering, perhaps about those nocturnal escapades. Love, Shar
