Glorious

its golden light, its reflected rays
shimmer and shine make my day
the heat warms me to the very core
my heart healed where once sore

the light dancing playfully on the water edge
beautiful creatures perched on the hedge
ice cream and children running through the street
as teens and adults lounge about in the heat

the rays they shimmer as they start to fade
the shadows creating more and more shade
the sun slips beyond our sight
with little now just a little light

its not forgotten and its not gone
it will come back just as bright as it shone
that glorious sun we wait for you
that glorious sun
