Glinting Ripples
Across the lake as moonlight shone
Glinting ripples danced,
Beneath a cloudless, starlit sky
Away they skipped and pranced.
Destined for the distant shore
Gleefully they sped,
All across that moonlit lake
Dancing ripples spread.
Then to crash upon the shore
Their dance, now all but spent
To slowly ebb back to the lake,
In leisurely descent.
