Glass Shadows

POEM " GLASS SHADOWS " by martin gedge

Passing shadows in a frame
reflections in the mirror
memories in a life I've been
to footsteps leading here
ghosts that haunt my every move
to check inn side my brain
marks upon my flesh and skin
while breathing down each vein
blind to all of what I see
this ageless fool in time
waiting for the rush of blood
to flood of every line
I'm not the host or chosen one
that walks this deadly ground
but the invasion of the earth
beyond the light and sound
this face I show is unlike yours
but signs of ancient grey
to watch a million souls deceased
and vanish in decay
the skies are lit like fireflies
the worlds about to bust
a strange advance in atmosphere
to blow away like dust
and in the distant whispered still
for darkness shall inform
that without doubt the lights go out
you wait the coming storm...
