Glass Ring

time and tide waits no lass.
the carousel's ring
was made of glass.
i cut my fingers
and missed the prize,
no matter,
i could never really
meet your eyes.
what I thought was love
disappeared in a puff of
smoke
it was never a
dream but rather a
cruel joke.
