Glass

Loneliness is like glass. You look through it but cannot see. It’s like having food before you, and not being able to eat. Like a book that has no ending, a bonfire in the rain. The ocean with no waves, a track without a train. It’s a friend that’s never there, a phone that never rings. A glider with no wind, a bird that has no wings. It’s knowing that you’re someone, and having no self worth. Or being with child, but never giving birth. Like winter with no snow, and springtime without rain. You awake each morning hoping someone will come and ease the pain. Copyright: 10/17/2005 Copyright © Cheryl Ann Ross | Year Posted

But the only thing you can certainly change is your own attitude . . . .
