Give Up My Life

No one knows when danger, will be calling, for them.
As a witness, is often hard, for someone, to then see.
Having to witness, someone you truly love die, whose life,
suddenly ends, and wondering, why it had, to then be.

To not be able, to do a darn, gosh thing,
but to sit back, and just watch, idle by.
Feeling so helpless, and vulnerable,
unable to do anything, but tearfully cry.

So, if given a chance, to change the scenario,
to reverse the outcomes, to alter the scores.
I would for whom I love, would state, to save,
I would give up, my life, up for yours.
