Give Myself Away

Give Myself Away

No matter in the dark of night
or in the sunlight of the day.
Somewhere in these words I write
I give myself away.

Asking nothing in return
the life I choose to live.
In poetry on paper
is everything I have to give.

Freely without question
and charging not one dime.
My soul bleeds in the open
in every single rhyme.

Each word finding its own way
right from the very start.
Coming from my mind to you
must first pass through my heart.

Unlocking secrets deep inside
finding words to say.
Then withholding nothing
I give myself away.

So take from me what you need
or take just what you will.
While I give myself away
I'm remaining still.
