Girl X
Didn't get to build her castle in the sand
Her innocence was taken by a sick man
Who preyed upon her as she descended
The stairway,
Her life hasn't been anywhere near the same
since that horrid day,
He lured her into his apartment and
Violated her to no end
And then...
He carried her body back into the stairwell...
And he stayed in that torturous den
Of an apartment with his girlfriend and played
Pretend...
While this baby lie in a stairwell
Covered in graffitti and roach spray,
And unconscious and couldn't say,
Who did that to her...
We can't take yesterday back
But we can make up for the slack
With tomorrow...
Parents, please let Girl X's story
Be not in vain and just sorrow...
For every young child you see
Walking alone and not accompanied
Stop and speak to them and get
Their full name and tell them to
Hurry to their destination,
You could be saving a life
All it takes is just a small amount
Of determination...
