They're right across the street I can see them playing I can't escape this place it is here I am staying My executioner sat me next to the window you see So I could watch my children but they can't see me The tears are done I'm accepting my fate There will be no more goodbyes for that it is too late I've been here so long it's hard to remember The love I received from my family so tender But time has passed and they have moved on They have no idea I'm not really gone I watch them come and go every day At least I'm still alive to see them that way Only a few days 'til the deed will be done The lie becomes truth and my captor has won Why he has done this I haven't a clue Trapped in his attic for a year maybe two Time has no meaning when you're going to die I have only one question and that question is why
