Gingerbread

Gingerbread house
Ice cream cone tree
1 piece of candy for the house
2 pieces for me

The air is full
With the smell of molasses
I need to lie down
As my blood sugar crashes

Cookies, Candy canes
And a Hershey's kiss
Belief in Santa, youthful metabolism
These are things that we really miss

December is great
My favorite you bet
The next 11 months
Trying to get out of debt

I always wanted a gingerbread house when i was a child... now hubby is diabetic it is a definite no no. The final stanza hits hard as many end to overspend at this time of the year - not me though we buy when we need something not because a day dictates:-) have a wonderful time over the festive season:-) hugs jan xx
