Gilded Waters Crinkle
I listen to the waves washing ashore
when the wind is but a breeze, nothing more.
And I sit all alone upon the beach,
looking up at heaven, just out of reach.
Darkness defuses daylight's dimming glow
as a sprinkling of stars begins to show.
And bathed in quietude, I've naught to say,
watching today morph into yesterday.
A breathtaking scarlet sun weaves the night
a coat of many colors stitched by light.
Awed by the sky's beatification;
I unleash my mind's imagination.
Embracing Nature as I would a friend,
I feel Her presence with me at day's end.
And purging my mind of all sense of time,
I discern peace within Her paradigm.
It's time to leave, yet I can't look away,
all my senses are begging me to stay.
And so, I remain watching stars twinkle,
moonbeams dance, and gilded waters crinkle.
