Gilded In Gold

The shards of a broken mirror
big and small, collect them all
Put them together
with glue or gold
Makes the flaws look elegant,
but never can show a flawless reflection

Heart broken by the lover,
for it, any gold or diamonds
or tears or promises
have no healing at all
Though it stays clingling
on to every hope
Showing a valiant facade
Forever it is a broken mirror,
gilded in gold
