Gift of Song

A man loaded his six string
Shot a cord to the sky
And down fell the clarity
That filled many an eye

Sometimes you gotta look up
To see what's going down
And if you embrace the majesty
You can walk under its crown

Cause when arms are open
And ready to embrace
It's then that we see
What each of us must face

Sometimes you gotta look up
To see what's going down
And the gutter is just one step
To the sidewalks of any town

Music is a tool used to reach
The chambers of the heart
Loud are the voices of the fallen
And a cry is just a start

Sometimes you gotta look up
To see what's going down
And when we reach out
We can rescue all that drown

When I hear songs of pain
I feel an energy in my bones
That echoes to my brain
With its fragile tones

And when I look up
I feel the vibrations coming down
It's then that I find knowledge
That love is the great renown
