Ghosts

When I least expect, they show themselves
The ghosts that linger here
To rid of them is hard to do
For they live behind my fear

Many times I've tried to run
Each time they have found
A way to bring back yesterday
Then, once again, I'm bound

Just when I think I'm way ahead
They're never far behind
For they lurk in the darkest places
Deep inside my mind

The broken being I've become
Will one day be a whole
For these ghosts I will destroy
And retract the life they've stole
