Ghost of Mistakes Past

A ghost wails, in the haunted walkway. A poltergeist fails, he’s here to stay. Wallowing through the halls, A mix of sorrow and rage. The broken clock again calls, There’s a sound of a torn page. He doesn’t belong to either, Heaven or Hell has denied him entrance. Stuck to visit his woes, mania a greeter. Stuck in a sorry state of penance. He hears the calling from the other side. Lost souls of a time that has passed long ago. Friends and loved ones, that long passed died, Calling for him to return, but he’s destined below. He would give anything and everything, To be able to hold his beloveds hand. To hear her magical voice sing, To be risen from where he now stands. But he hears nothing now, nothing for years. To a demented master he bows, Despite the stares of his peers. He tried to break free, To get away from this place. The ghost of animosity, Calms before the angels face. The years turn too fast for him, He’s lost all hope and sight of faith. He’s left at the behest, the mercy, Of an omnipotent wraith. Bones begin to crack and deteriorate, He feels his body rot and a heart left to crust. His memories now failing, turning to hate. Now forever lost, he turns to dust.
