Ghost of Jim

the joyful ghost of Jim was born in twenty-seven
when his motorcycle whisked him off to heaven
he haunts his family by throwing their lights off at five
has more fun teasing them now than when he was alive

ghost of Jim is glad he never picked up the penny game like his cousin Clete
So many ghosts think leaving them is great but now they are obsolete
when he is around, the back hair of his parents stands straight up in a line
“Jim is here,” says his psychic dad. His once dubious mother says, “and that is fine”.
