Australia is burning. I looked at the map of our country over the weekend, tracing the severity of fires, as my major concern was for my daughter who was driving 6.5 hrs on her own from visiting friends in Newcastle, back to country Northern NSW. I had huge concerns, as the highway and place of departure and return were surrounded by bushfire. This could no doubt happen in America, as it has already on your West Coast, but not to the extreme size of landmass affected here. But it could. Obviously the dire situation occurring here at present, has drummed up a whole set of emotions and intelligence within me, to translate the Senryu into another story entirely about transformation and regeneration. Strong people survive, transform and regenerate. Trees bleed, like a broken heart can bleed. But in some form or another, through such devastation, there evolves a strength to survive, transform and regenerate.

Resilience is a great attribute <3

We are robust people over here. Survivors. It is tragic. Yes, you could say the bushfires over here inspired this Senryu, which is the way a heart turns in a human when love goes awry. Strong trees survive, strong people survive. Life transforms and regenerates.
