Ghost

Step outside.
Meet me in the rain and I'll show you sun glimmers.
In a canopy of light, at every turn,
Quelling strangers pass and form
   And walk away.
I don't know you.
  Every corner has a secret,
Some in ardor, some too late.
I can't know you.
Can you hear the words
Stringing senseless thought away.
I shan't know you.
I am lost in senseless thought.
   Hear the clock burr.
Speed the wheels through the glen
Onto the messed up road.
Mist and memory is all you are to me.
I won't know you. Never did.
Leave me before I shake the pain to grey.
