Ghost
Im running through the dark, chased by questions in my mind
Haunted by loves ghost, and I've got no where to hide..
And I try reason with him, please just let me be..
I'm just as lost as you are, but he denies my plea.
So I continue running, and he follows close behind..
Lingering like regret, as if there's something more to find.
And this ghost only comes at night, when the city around me sleeps.
And he's armed with all the memories that only loves ghost keeps
I ask him where he came from. And why he came to me?
'I'm just as lost as you are, but I've come to help you see..
He says he can see a heartbreak as a shadow on the ground,
& That I may not be aware but it's following me around.
He says he's come to save me, before this shadow takes my soul,
turning me into a ghost for the things I couldnt let go.
He says he can see that I am hurting but I need to move along..
He says Life, for him, is over because he held on far too long..
He's been a ghost for years now, pained with his mistakes,
roaming the lonely sky waiting for the next victim that love takes...
I'm letting go and moving on....Sitting contently on my past..
No longer running from the questions that I thought I'd never ask..
