Ghost
A ghost materialised on the stairs last night
Was frozen in horror choice fright or flight
A little child perhaps was three or four
Wearing quaint smock dress reaching to the floor
Thunderstruck with eyes locked we gazed and gazed
Unbelievable, I’m amazed or crazed
Step by step she came descending to ground
I swear, hands down, could be nervous breakdown
Turning around she ascended the stair
Emitting an an aura of deep despair
The previous owners did live next door
The luxury flat on the upper floor
They both looked at me as if I was mad
Just lay it to rest was all that they said
Several times now I have seen this young ghost
The local medium was most engrossed
He rushed over with bell, book and candle
Worried, could create one mighty scandal
Upon the late evening of the sixth
medium did predict an easy fix
She materialised as times before
as medium exclaimed “I’ve made rapport”
From incantation a light above shone
Deliverance complete she’s truly gone
