Getting Old

When his joints ached as he rose
he kicked the chair leg in despair.
He knows it is the fault of age…
but it’s easier to blame the chair.

My father-in-law used to say, "Getting old ain't for sissies." I thought he was trying to be funny. Now I realize he was trying to warn me. Have a Happy New Year my friend!
