The doctor's loving hand touches her shoulder, allowing her to cry Her face once strong and resilient, now let out a saddened sigh She looks at me extending a smile, I sit in my fear of saying goodbye Strands of hair and life fall away, her laugh and radiance stay bright She is our mother, strong and beautiful, cancer will not dim her light We hold her close every chance we get, never knowing what is in sight
