Notes About The Poem

Inspired by Frank Capra's 1946 film It's A Wonderful Life, which was based on the short story The Greatest Gift by Phillip Van Doren Stern.

George Baily-It's a Wonderful Life

Told he was worth more dead than alive,
A wingless angel changed George's perspective.
Had George not been born, his town would be Hell.
When Clarence earned his wings, it rang a bell.
