Gently
Gently
Gently calls the melody
the final anthem of my life
As the dusk descends and settles
As the night becomes the light
Gently, oh so gently
As the tree's in autumn bend
As the stream races over pebbles
As the last becomes my end
Gently calls the melody
The final anthem to be paid
As the piper plays the last farewell
In the hours that remain
Genlty, oh so gently
As winter sends her chilling cold
As the seasons pass so quickly
And I have gotten old
Gently calls the melody
the melody of life
Gently as I kiss you,
I am gone
Turn out the lights.
