Gentle Zephyrs
Where do they go, these ghostly figures
From our famous Poetry Soup site
They're loyal fans for a month or so
Then poof... this apparition takes flight
Like gentle zephyrs, they float in and out
We really don't get to know them
Consensus is, they may not exist
Just an illusion from somebody's pen
Glory be, who are these strange creatures
I'm sure they'll cause us no harm
Just some figments of the creative process
Don't mean to set off an alarm
Wish they would stay around for a while
So we could get to know them a bit
The next Shakespeare could be among them
Or the next Edgar Allen Poe... what a wit
