Gentle On My Mind

Gentle On My Mind

Gone for just awhile now, I'm still grieving I admit.
Finding comfort only in, the things I can't forget.
Knowing all you meant to me and what you always will.
That part of me that beats for you is why I'm grieving still.

Someday we will meet again. Somewhere in the by and by.
I sometimes find the strength I need, in tender tears I cry.
Don't think me filled with sorrow when you see me weep.
Or think my heart is breaking on nights that I can't sleep.

For if you look into my heart, it may be that you find.
The tears I cry are memories that are gentle on my mind.
As I relive our moments shared it touches me inside.
Sometimes setting free the tears I can no longer hide.

Such a beautiful poem filled with such emotion... I think a poem many can relate to when they have lost a loved one or a relationship has ended. So lovely to see you back on soup ed:-) hugs Jan xx
