Gem's Lament

broken strings on your guitar no longer get repaired and rough songs lay scattered 'cross your room you're not here where lattes where cappuccinos meshed with your tales of soul, of sex and reparations your dream came by today a thirst for those stories that brought us joy that brought us tears clinging to their faces

We talking jazz?, we talking New Orleans? Are you a musician? (I was born curious) You took me from a piano to a guitar served with great hot drinks, then served lines that broke my heart (are u going to do that with every poem u pen?) I could contentedly sit and savor, 'your dream came by today' just wonderous! Is your last name really Muse? How cool is that! Poetry hugs ... CayCay

Hey CayCay. I would say singer songwriter. Bob Dylan, Memphis Minnie. If you consider strumming on a guitar while screaming and hollering music maybe I am a musician. Muse is a pseudonym. Thanks for the input............peace!

I was here from 8-15 to 4-22, returned 1-25. Have we crossed paths before? I have brain issues, my remember-er is a bit broken so, please, tell me if you recall (thus the 3-year absence - pls read 'my soup disappearance reason', if interested). CayCay

Thanks Susan. Ever notice how a poem has a tendency not to cooperate? This poem was like that, like a child.

Thanks Pat. I know it doesn't look like it, but this is one of the most personal poems I've ever written.
