Gem a True Story

Beware of gifts from anyone.
   This gem, an emerald undone.
   Its beauty was unrecognized
   This precious stone, i realized
Rough cut to new, exceeds its worth.
It had to be returned to earth.
   Australia, we did arrange,
Once more to visit Yester Grange.
At Wentworth Falls, its new domain,
As cargo of a paper plane.
We launched it on its solo flight.
Waving goodbye till out of sight.
This flight of fancy set it free.
   Its resting place eternity.

   10/ 22/ 2016.

   Emerald green for my wife.

George, I was fascinated by this account of the precious emerald you returned to the waterfall. True stories like this always seem to mean more to me. Congratulations! Carolyn
