Garlic Knots

A garlic knot, when nice and hot, Is something that I like a lot. One little bite brings pure delight And ramps my taste buds outta sight. The oil does ooze and helps infuse Each bite with flavor as one chews. It makes a mess but nonetheless, It’s worth a stain on shirt or dress. A health food nut will spew his gut On why such knots are evil, but He might just find he’d change his mind If on one garlic knot he dined!

Oh gosh, Ilene, my husband would skin me alive. I just eat a wee bit of garlic cooked in food and he has a FIT about my breath. Must be nice. I love the stuff but never tried this garlic knot thing.

My Dad in all his Scandinavian glory used to love to go to leutifisk dinners. He'd always say you weren't enjoying it unless you had butter running down your elbows. :) Obviously an exaggeration. I think. :) Have a wonderful weekend ilene.

Very slick couplet rhyming and PURRfect cadence! I love not only the way you rhyme but how you run some lines into each other without breaking the flow. (I forget what that's called for now!) Anyhoo, another splendid piece! Keith

thank you, keith! (by the way, i love that little "e" on its own line in your name!). i think it's called enjambment but i'm not sure. anyway, thanks for reading - it means a lot.

Heck, garlic is really excellent for the body. I loved this delightful poem that is making my mouth water for a bite! 7

hey connie! yes, i forgot that garlic is also supposed to be good for you, although all the oil in a garlic knot probably negates any health benefits. thanks for the comment...
