When I go trout fishing I use a variety of different baits, depending on what kind of trout I am fishing for. (Rainbow, Brown or Brook). My top bait is usually Salmon eggs. You can get many different kinds of  salmon eggs, like garlic & shrimp scented and many different colors as well. I always take some of the juice that comes in the jar of garlic eggs and dip whatever bait I'm using into it, it works like a charm!

It was 4:00am when I woke up To go fishing for some trout I packed my gear and tied some fly's before I headed out When I got down to the river About a quarter after six All by myself, a perfect time To use my fishing tricks I reached inside my vest And grabbed a little weight And I stuck it on my fishing line Twelve inches from my bait Then I took a piece of orange thread And I tied it to my hook Then I scented it with my antidote Of garlic flavored gook I caught a lot of fish today I must have caught about fifty So now you know my secret bait Use garlic gook, it's nifty!

G'day Charles … a real learning curve for me, although some use cheese as bait, not sure if it's for trout though. I never thought any fish had a penchant for garlic - thanks Charles - Lindsay

I love freshly caught fish and sure wish I could have some of that trout! Well I guess I'll just have to learn how to fish! :-) I enjoyed reading this fishy (lol) poem with its practical tips on how to catch more fish with the right bait! Well done, Charlie! Hugs and best regards. Pandita

Well, well, not that I'll ever go fishing again, garlic gook, must pass that one on to my son. Thank you for the tip and the pleasure of reading your wonderful poem. Mick

Thanks Mick, it works like a charm! It will be Father's Day here in the U.S. tomorrow. I don't know if it is in the UK but even if it isn't, what the heck...Happy Father's Day! Charlie

sure made me smile Charles, I guess they don't need much extra seasoning when you cook them - thanks for the reminder I've just run out of garlic today - for cooking not fishing lol:-) hugs Jan xx

Boys, sorry, I meant men, hubby and pal. Brought me the most beautiful big rainbow trout last time they were out. Though my step sons are men now. ;)
