Funny Tragedies

I’ve had a fair share of tragedy in my life, When my father passed away I found I lost two cousins too When I flew to Zimbabwe I almost separated from my wife So you see my tragedy excelled and grew Two years later I found I was flying back home Mama had died in her house all alone So my sister told me over the phone Again separation with my wife was on the cards as I roam She wanted the house and everything in it My wife expected me to give it up because we has a son But before I left I had to ensure her I was not beat I told her by law I’m entitled to half and she knew I won So forgive me when I write only funny rhyme Tragedy is something I have not learned to deal with, I confess. These are a few of the tragedies in my time And until I fine a way to cope with it, it will be the funnies I address. Laughter is the best medicine

Mad Poet, I can see why you hate tragedies. Dr. Ram was talking about the classic tragedies such as Romeo and Juliet. I find them more interesting than old classic comedies (of which I dont' think i have read many) but yes, for sure, in your life, comedies are much funner and more welcome!! Good one. I hope it does well in the contest! LUv, Andrea

You're definitely right about laughter being the best medicine! If we dwell on all the negative aspects of our lives too long, we give way to despair. If we can learn to laugh at our problems, we are on the road to recovery. Insightful poem, Mad Poet! Love, Carolyn
