Funny How the Brain Plays Tricks
There will never be a time for us,
I know you’ll never visit.
These words were coarse
With no remorse and
Casually omniscient.
Why say this? You never know,
May visit you one day.
I just know- You never will,
You’ll never come my way.
I have to go, we’ll speak soon
I had to go somehow.
Will let you go, Thanks a lot,
Goodbye my friend, Bye now.
You never called again no more,
The phone it never rang,
Thought of you; words you said-
And how they somehow stang.
Was by myself when heard the news;
Police told me with compassion,
Though strangely knew what happened to you;
Before this interaction.
There will never be a time for us-
Those words played upon my mind,
For weeks on end my life did pend
Whilst little joy had shined.
Looking back and what you said
The things that you just knew,
There will never be a time for us-
How this sadly turned out true.
That sunny day gardening
Waiting for a message to come through,
I knew someone would visit me
Outside I was, I knew.
When you called and after this
A little joy… let go,
Omniscience is intense…
The things that we just know.
Since then I thought I’ve seen you
In strangers I have passed,
Funny how the memory is and
How it’s hard to grasp.
Since then I thought I felt you;
Watching me and close
Though my mistake for thoughts belate
Inside the hearts of most.
