Full Moon Queen

Late at night and asleep again
Rarely now do I miss my friend
Silver light brings that to an end
My full moon queen comes to talk to me

Come to harvest
Come to occupy

Only now does she turn away
So many years since that fateful day
Part of me still wants to see the play
That we dropped the curtains on

Just a concept
Just a phantom

I awake with a pounding heart
Pounding skull, it's time for the day to start
Push the dreams deep inside some part
Of my brain to lock away

Odd emotions
Strange commotions

I look outside and I see the shining stars
New moon black, I can see so very far
An infinite space where my dreams are being marred
By a ghost from long ago

Whirling memories
In this small town

Still she comes to see me
See me when I'm sleeping
She's my full moon queen
Only in my dreams

Bring me back to 14
Pains me here at 20
She's my full moon queen
Still she haunts my dreams

Sometimes I sit and wonder why
Things have gone wrong and tried to die
Is there anything left for I?
Come show me, light my way

The snow has melted here for years
And I'm still living all my fears
The summer hail gives way to tears
Come show me, light my way

I'm stronger than I used to be
Living on my own, it's only me
And my lover, a similarity
Come show me, light my way

To save me, I now create a Queen
A concept of perfection in between
Suicide and the innocence of my teens
Come show me, light my way
