Fugitive On the Run

Waking up at the crack of dawn
No re-collection of the night just gone
A lethal cocktail he had consumed
Out cold all night is what he assumed
Unaware of the crime he'd committed
Horrific details now being submitted
No choice now he'd have to run
Cashed up and armed with a gun
Life now would never be the same
New clothes a shave and a different name
Surviving on odd jobs paid only cash in hand
The thought of being locked up he couldn't stand
He found it hard believing what he'd done
Hearing details left him feeling numb
Only young with many years to live
Only now his life was as a fugitive
