Frozen

"Frozen" by David Lustrup 2017 As I stand in the spots, where she once stood.. At the spot where I carved our names in the wood, I look out into the air, The tears roll down. Shes not there, in tears I drown. The pain I feel, has the whole of heaven in breathless silence. The earth stands still, deathly quiet. As these pulses of hurt fall from my face to the cold ruthless earth. Can you not see the light of heaven has dimmed? Frozen, like the winds in November. The snowflakes fill the lines where I carved her name. Joy turns to pain as I remember. I see her smile and wave in slow motion. As she fades away. As I stand in the spots, that she once stood. At the spot where I carved our names in the wood.
