Frost

slowly yet surely the line was crossed
brick by brick as they built up their walls
what could be the reason, his or her flaws
or was it a simple “just because”

a wish to go back to the way it was
hoping not all memories are false
yet fight after fight, they only kept scores
screaming until their voices grew hoarse

then came the day he decides to withdraw
saying all he felt was just remorse
the tears, they fall as she faces her loss
her heart stiffens, now covered with frost
