From the Rafters

Time to put our clocks back
Means we lose an hours daylight
So at 4 pm the sun goes down
As daytime turns into our night

Springing forward or falling back
Whose crazy idea was it to do that
In spring we lose an hours sleep
In fall an hour’s sleep we keep

The disadvantages of this
Means precious daylight hours are missed
On the dot of half past four
The sky goes dark, daylight no more

On rising it is still pitch black
Oh please do send our daytime back
Till then I have no other choice
Must hibernate till spring
As daylight returns oh how I rejoice
and from the rafters I sing...

I always think how strange it is that daylight savings time ENDS when we have the LEAST daylight!

Thanks Line for your comment. Yes I do really struggle in the darker months, but must try to keep positive. I have just woken to a stunningly beautiful morn so must get out and enjoy it before darkness descends! Kindest thoughts Ann x

Excellent penned piece Ann, giving what is brits feel about changing our time twice every year. Loved your flow and nice rhyme too. Have a good final week before we change at least we get extra hour inbed! Blessings,Gordon

Morning Gordon, thanks for your lovely comment. I am hoping, like me you have woken to the most glorious autumn morning. The light is so beautiful with a crispness in the air and after witnessing the glory of another full moon, well what more could a gal want, haha, wishing you sun kisses and moonbeams, Ann x

Daylight savings time works for me, but this is a very well-written piece of propaganda in the form of a poem, Ann.
