From Innocence to Chains

Little hands once held promise
Now clenched in defiant fists
A childhood lost to darkness
Abuse and pain, forever etched

School halls turned to prison walls
Rebellion fueled by hidden pain
Acting out, a desperate call
For love, for help, in vain

Teen years marked by struggle
Anger, hurt, and shame
No guidance, no gentle hand
To heal the hidden scars

Now shackled, lost, and cold
A life forever changed
From innocence to chains
A childhood's fleeting range

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
