From Father To Son

Even if I say the words it still wouldn’t be enough, You helped me to grow up strong even when the roads had seen rough, You’re a wonderful father and a pillar to the community, You kept me cool even when there was a rise in the humidity, I realized being a father isn’t an easy job, You got to keep yours kids away from clans, gangs, and even the mobs, There were many times when I knew my life could have gone south, But I sat back, kept quiet, and listened to every word out of your mouth! Just doing your role as a father you bought me my first car, I didn’t have my license as of yet so you didn’t allow me to drive to far, I remember you first taught me how to drive a stick shift and stopped on a hill, You hopped out of the truck and told me to remember our drills. I remember being so afraid and terrified that I’ll lose control, You were cheering me on and while climbing the hill the truck never rolled, Today is a very special day your birthday we must come to embrace, And being I was blessed with you as my father, I’ll continue to say my grace! I do call you, “Holla,” but that’s not out of disrespect, It’s just a nickname that has stuck with you but not one you give to your pet, You’re my father but you’re also my best friend, And my love shall always be there for you it shall never end! This day is special for you and also for me, Because I have my father around in my life for more years to see, Some people cherish wearing, diamonds, platinum, gold, or even pearls, But what I value is that I still got my father in my world! So on this day Pops you go out and enjoy your time, And our days together is what I’ll always cherish within my mind, And if you ever come across hard times I’ll be there for you and I’ll never run, These are values passed down through traditions from Father to son!
