From (Daughter) To (Father)

How did we get this way?
We had everything
We had each other
Nothing could bring us apart

But now here we are
We are starting to fall
And we can't help each other
What brought us apart?

I thought everything would be fine
That we'd have no problems in our lives
Now all I can taste is the salt from my tears
And all the pressure from your fears
But I just gotta know right now
I gotta know right now
Are we ever going to be okay?

We could talk about everything
Even laugh and smile
But now we fight about everything
And we're both in denial

We don't seem to understand
The hurt this brings to both of us
And it seems we don't
Care for one another

I thought everything would be fine
That we'd have no problems in our lives
Now all I can taste is the salt from my tears
And all the pressure from your fears
But I just gotta know right now
I gotta know right now
Are we ever going to be okay?

I know you're scared
But so am I
I know you don't want to be like them
Neither do I

We had it good
Everything was fine
Now there's too much reasoning
On who is right

I know what I'm doing with my life
I hope you know what you're doing with yours
You can come back anytime
Don't stay gone
It's not too late
It's not too late, to fix
What's been broken

Just don't give up on me
And I won't give up on you
It's not too late
It will never be too late
Unless you let this get to you
I won't let it, get to me
