from darkness to light

melancholic mood of angst
sinks deep in sands of ennui
noose of loneliness tightens
we dread the looming abyss
yet a light within us brightens

darkness a web spun by ego
the light reflection of our Self
we know we’re not body-mind
nonchalance banishes fears
that seek to grip us in its bind

viewing life as a lucid dream
somewhat like a simulation
wherein we play out our role
breath by breath we but feel
gentle whispers of our soul

Dear US, The way you capture the tightening noose of loneliness only to reveal the brightening of inner light, speaks to the resilience of the spirit and the wisdom gained through self-reflection. I’m struck by how you blend existential themes with lucid dreaming, simulation, the play of roles into a compassionate meditation on being that perfectly aligning with your love for exploring complex, spiritual and transformative ideas in poetry. Excellent Read this morning! Spring Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel
