From Behind the Bar

We see all the changes that alcohol brings
From when the doors open ‘til closing time rings
From pleasant to merry or bolshie and loud
Then you stagger off out with the rest of the crowd

Long after Time’s called and the last drinkers gone
When the glasses and bottles and tills are all done
Then we can go home or off to a club
Though it’s often A.M when we leave from the pub

We like good behaviour as you drink your beer
But if you’re out of order, you are not welcome here
We are earning a crust just to make our ends meet
So please be polite and we’ll be just as sweet

Rob, Great poem here on "From Behind The Bar." A "7" from me for sure. I like your perspective here on being on the other side of the bar. I've been in enough bars in my lifetime to fully appreciate what you mean. And unfortunately, some people never learn. Being polite does go a very long way indeed. Enjoyed your write very much!! Best Wishes, Gary
