From Ashes Rising

Burning bridge is falling down
 Im stoking the following flames
yellow-orange flames gather now
 I set this bridge ablaze

Leaving behind the world that was mine
 crossing into unknown abyss
tripping over yesterday...I blew the sweet world a kiss
In return she hissed-shrugged shoulder remised

Crestfallen, dejected, internally bruised
  Waving goodbye are the evil ...amused
Smiling, bathing in the pain I shoulder
  winds blow in opposing force colder
Yet I must trek direct into source

Holding tightly to resilience thats fleeting
Cutting old cuts to ensure that Im still bleeding
Only the wind's howl to talk to and reminisce
  It speaks the words of those that I miss
Of her I kissed....for her I wish...this did not exist

Lonely crossing to this side of mine
 Mine alone, my mind confined
My soul tight winds... life untied... spirit cries

I will mourn for one day more
I will lay black roses at my grave
I will say goodbye to the me I was before
I will rise strong and brave
I will rise from ashes

~~~~~Phoenix flight starts tonight
Wow. Incredible work here. I love the vivd, deep emotions expressed. When I read it truly the end of it made me sigh positively. Very well worth the read today. Keep on keepin' on, renewal, "rising above the ashes" is a very beautiful thing. With love and respect, Lucinda
The creative imagery conveys your thoughts in an interesting way. I like the way you ended this poem. You may want to change Im to I'm in the 4th stanza. Keep on writing. Thank you for your kind comments on my poem. Karen
