Fritz Mans Best Friend
My heart is heavy and my eyes can’t see
I’m at peace though… she’ll live for eternity
Greeted me at the door each and every day
Helped me through the rough times
That seemed to come my way
A loyal companion always there for me
Her name was Fritz…today I set her free
Free from the pain I saw in her eyes
I grew so attached are you surprised
My heart is broken but it will mend
I now know why … they’re mans best friend
She never complained always there to please
Shoulda seen her fur coat…blowing in the breeze
All dogs go to heaven so I’ll see her soon
Used to eat peanut butter from a baby rubber spoon
She made my life brighter… slept with me at night
She’d take my socks off…but she’d never bite
Running off leash there in the park
Many adventures did we embark
I’m gonna miss her and miss her dearly
If the tears ever dry… I’ll see clearly
My heart is broken but it will mend
I now know why … they’re mans best friend
She never complained always there to please
She would light up…when I pulled out the cheese
All dogs go to heaven and I’ll see her soon
No more peanut butter from a baby rubber spoon
She’s in a better place… and free from the pain
But the tears still come… harder than the rain
I cherish the memories of her wagging tail
I think of her daily…can you hear me wail?
