Frightened and Armed

A violent compulsion, yet virtual strangers,
impacts like these stand rare and endangered
Built up to fall, forced to recover,
I'm made up of clues for you to discover
And I know I can help, if only you let me
rewrite this love, be all that we should be
Forever frightened and armed for combat
I'm sorry
I never intended to teach you that
I need you to learn we'll never be normal
You play by the rules, I'm perfectly feral
and the chances we take, they set us apart,
we followed each other's ravaged black hearts.
I'm aware loving you is walking through fire
but the paths on our maps, they spoke and conspired
to lace and entwine, unite us as one
so no matter how often you try to run,
wherever you end up, there's clear certainty
you'll find yourself right back here with me.
